Round table on safety: The Air Liquide Foundation raises awareness among the network of production schools

On the occasion of the FNEP General Meeting on January 22, a round table was organized to highlight the safety acculturation implemented as part of the 3-year partnership in their gas-using schools. The key Air Liquide players involved in this partnership shared personal and very concrete testimonials on safety culture with the wider FNEP network.
1️⃣ A rich sharing of experience in the field of safety
Emmanuel Rouve, Director of the Institut de Formation Technique de l'Ouest production school in Cholet, one of the 6 pilot schools supported, and Éric Gantois, Director of Air Liquide France Industrie in Carquefou, shared their experience of the various concrete actions carried out at IFTO. These actions, also implemented in the 5 other pilot schools, will enable us to identify ways of transposing this approach to all 23 gas-using production schools*. Acquiring the reflexes and safety culture of a professional will be a strong lever of employability for students.
2️⃣ Air Liquide's expertise at the service of production schools
Safety is a fundamental value and an integral part of Air Liquide's culture. In addition to setting up an Occupational Health and Safety Committee in each school, teams from Air Liquide France Industrie have undertaken to organize cross-visits between schools and industrial plant, for example, to encourage the sharing of best practices, or even anomaly hunts to detect and correct risks.
3️⃣ A common goal: everyday safety for all
Louis-François Richard, Chairman of the Air Liquide Foundation, and Jacques-Emmanuel Saulnier, Managing Director of the TotalEnergies Foundation, offered valuable insights into the safety culture within their respective companies. Using very concrete examples, Louis-François Richard reminded us that a safety culture, anchored in daily life through rituals, indicators and continuous improvement, is essential to guarantee a safe working environment and protect the physical integrity of all.

This partnership between the FNEP, the Air Liquide Foundation and Air Liquide France Industrie is a perfect illustration of how collaboration between the worlds of education and business can create positive synergies, paving the way for a safer, more promising future for young people and the industrial sector, particularly for jobs in short supply.
