The support of the Air Liquide Foundation has been essential to our work
Maybe more important than the funds that pay the cost of the courses is the involvement of Air Liquide employees, who participate in student visits, offer internships, provide mentoring and masterclass, which are very important for improving the quality of the courses.
Speaker: Loreto Díaz Barrera - HSEQR Director Iberia - Air Liquide
The modules are dedicated to supply chain and welding
So, I proposed a practical and technical course, a combination of both interactive modules.
It is based on teaching them how to be aware of the risk, how to increase the risk perception understand the rules and the hasards in a working environment.
It's an opportunity of creating value and adding value on their CV.
Speaker: Dylan - Graduated of the welding training program
I found the course really interesting and entertaining.
The teachers were exceptional, explaining and advising us at every step of the way.
In this course, we also covered topics such as occupational risk prevention, which was very useful for me in the course and during my internships at the company where I work.
Because these are issues we deal with every day, they are things that can happen to you or anyone else, and it's very important to be aware about it.
Speaker: Loreto Díaz Barrera - HSEQR Director Iberia - Air Liquide
For me it was a wonderful experience, because it's wonderful to be able to help others because I personally love teaching and spreading knowledge.
It is really rewarding to help them build their own future.
Tomillo, Spain: raising awareness of safety in technical jobs
Speaker: Samuel Vergès - Director of Research, Inserm
In 2019, we initiated the Expedition 5300 research program, a scientific and medical research program that studies the effects of chronic hypoxia in the population of the highest city in the world, in Peru, La Rinconada, where 50,000 inhabitants live at an altitude of 5,300 meters with half the amount of oxygen. This is therefore a research project that aims to study adaptations and intolerances to chronic hypoxia in humans.
This new research focus on women's health at high altitude and aims, on the one hand, to develop knowledge about the specificities of female pathophysiological responses to chronic hypoxia and on the other hand, to disseminate this knowledge among this population living at high altitude for better management of their intolerance reactions to high altitude, but also to disseminate this knowledge among healthcare professionals and all the medical teams that care for women suffering from respiratory illnesses leading to hypoxia in our regions.
The Air Liquide Foundation's support for the Expedition 5300 project allows us to have privileged relationship and support from a major player in scientific research, with a step-by-step relationship, sharing of progress and knowledge which is truly also one of the keys to the success of the Expedition 5300 project.
Speaker: Aude Milet - Air Liquide Scientific Expert
The Foundation needed my expertise to ensure this project was scientifically sound and that it met the Foundation's support criteria.
I am happy to act as a liaison between the researchers working on this project and the Foundation, not only for the scientific advances it will bring, but also for all the humanitarian aspects for the local populations.
