In 2023, the Fondation Air Liquide supported a new project to promote jobs integration in Spain.

The Air Liquide Foundation actively supports projects aimed at integrating young people in Europe into high tension sectors. As part of its mission, this year it supported the Tomillo Foundation’s new training project in Villaverde, Spain.

Launched in March, the six-month project trained 20 disadvantaged young people in warehouse management and the maintenance of various types of handling equipment. The training, which leads to certification, addresses a significant need for skilled workers in the district of Villaverde, which is developing an innovative logistics cluster in growing sectors. The training programme includes technical and business skills courses. This is followed by a 2-month internship at Air Liquide or one of the other 5 partner companies.

The involvement of Air Liquide employees is an important pillar of the Air Liquide Foundation's activities and the success of the projects it supports. In this way, Air Liquide Spain and its teams have actively collaborated with the Tomillo Foundation:

  • a visit to Air Liquide's facilities in Villaverde, where the students were able to discover the filling of gases, in particular for the Healthcare activity
  • interaction with the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) team and the site's production teams
  • an internship at the Air Liquide Villaverde site (Industrial Merchant)

The Tomillo  Foundation and Air Liquide employees are very satisfied with this collaboration. As the student's internship went very well, the Group offered her - and 2 other young people in the programme - a summer job to replace staff on holiday.

The project has been a real success: 100% of the students passed the certification course and all are satisfied with their training.

“ I would like to thank the Fundación Tomillo and Air Liquide for giving me the opportunity to start a career in the logistics sector where I wanted to work. “

Karima, trainee at Air Liquide Villaverde

" I loved working with Karina during those weeks of training. It was as rewarding for her as it was for me. "

Air Liquide Villaverde employee

" Fundación Tomillo has proved to be a very good partner to support this social and training project, they are neighbors in our main industrial center and have a long experience in the area, which allowed the project to be a success for all the students. This project also enhanced our Employee Experience and engagement, our filling center team likes being involved in giving opportunities, they feel proud of participating".

Sonia Garciadelcerro, Monitoring Manager of the project

“The project developed with Air Liquide has been a success. Thanks to their knowledge of the region and the job market, we have developed a training programme in logistics, enriched by masterclasses and visits, which are essential for linking theory and practice. The joint development and participation of Air Liquide acted as a catalyst in motivating the students, and the tutors showed great commitment, involvement and sensitivity.

We need companies like Air Liquide, committed and professional facilitators, to find different solutions to complex situations from which we can all learn. Thank you very much".
