Supporting young people far from employment in Grenoble

The “SAS Ambition Jeunesse” program run by the ALYL association aims to help young people aged 16 to 25 who are far from employment, with or without a defined professional project, to find a lasting place in the world of work.

A need to get back on the job market

In Grenoble's Priority Urban Neighborhoods, the unemployment rate is more than 3 times the national average, and 60% of these young people are out of work.

Eight associations, including ALYL, have been selected to meet the needs of Grenoble's priority urban districts. As a key player in guiding young jobseekers into employment, ALYL has developed a dedicated program: “Ambition Jeunesse”.

A sustainable path to integration

The “SAS Ambition Jeunesse” program has two distinct components:

  • A first week of workshops to learn about behavioral issues considered essential by employers.
  • This is followed by two weeks of professional immersion in a partner company linked to the participant's project, tutored by volunteer employees.

At the end of these 3 weeks, participants who have successfully completed the program receive a certificate of employability from the association, a passport to support their future job applications with employer partners.

They are then accompanied on the job for several months, and monitored in their host environment for 3 months after being hired.

“I've just started work and I always think of the ALYL association, which changed my life and helped me find my way. I'm so relieved. I hadn't dared talk about my fears and sadness to my family, here I was able to do so and I wasn't judged.”

What the Air Liquide Foundation does

The Air Liquide Foundation is supporting the recruitment of a full-time support manager and a corporate relations manager. The Foundation's endowment will enable us to double the association's staff and thus double the number of beneficiaries per year (to 130).

The Air Liquide Foundation has supported the ALYL association in 2020 and 2022.

"It's a simple project with a strong impact on the beneficiaries. Here, the focus is on quality and proximity, not quantity. My encounters with the beneficiaries were extremely positive. I learned a lot from them, especially about the 'real' values that need to be put forward."
