Successful Professional Integration in Spain for the young welding graduates of the Tomillo 2025 class
On 5 June, the Managing Director of the Air Liquide Foundation had the pleasure of handing over their welding certificates to 10 of the 15 students of the class of 2025, following practical and theoretical training provided by the Fundación Tomillo. This ceremony demonstrates the positive impact of the professional integration project supported by the Air Liquide Foundation and offers these beneficiaries a professional future.
Following the successful collaboration with the Foundation in 2023, which focused on training logistics and warehouse technicians, the partnership was extended for an additional two years in 2024. It includes two welding training programs and two logistics training programs. These certifications increase the employability of young people, equipping them with technical and behavioural skills, and provide local businesses with future employees in hard-to-fill jobs.
Alongside the Foundation's financial support, Air Liquide employees have played an active role in the students' training through practical involvement. Their contribution included welding masterclasses, giving tours of the Group's plant, organising mentoring sessions, and internships periods for some students. This direct involvement is essential for developing the technical and interpersonal skills these students need for their future career.
Thanks to this partnership with the Fundación Tomillo has already enabled over 70 young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to significantly enhance their employability in these two sectors.
