The Smile of the Child is a not-for-profit organization, recognized by the Greek authorities, that works to protect children. The Air Liquide Foundation is supporting The Smile Of the Child with its project to acquire three new mobile medical units.

The economic situation in Greece is having a direct impact on public institutions, in particular access to healthcare. An integral part of national channels, The Smile of the Child manages the transportation of children requiring an emergency medical intervention.

Three new mobile medical units to be fitted

The Smile of the Child operates eight ambulances dedicated to its mission of caring for newborns and children. It currently manages the majority of the transportation of sick children requiring urgent medical attention. In order to continue guaranteeing access to healthcare for children, the association recently acquired three new mobile medical units. They will be used to transfer sick children to hospitals in the regions of Athens, Salonika in the north of Greece, and Crete.

The contribution of the Air Liquide Foundation

The Air Liquide Foundation is contributing to the acquisition of medical equipment for the three new mobile medical units. This equipment will allow the association to care for sick children in adequate conditions of hygiene.
