Renovation of a school in Cameroon

Enable the school's 600-odd students to study in better conditions

The Air Liquide Foundation is supporting Link Up France's efforts to renovate a primary school in the town of Bafoussam, in west Cameroon. This project will enable the school's 600-odd students to study in better conditions.

Improving the living conditions of the people of Bafoussam

Cameroon is ranked 132th out of 201 countries using the human development index1. Link Up France's aim is to meet the needs of Bafoussam's inhabitants in terms of healthcare and education in particular.

Providing students and teachers with a decent learning environment

The primary school that Link Up France is renovating is currently in a dire state of repair. The association has already restored three classrooms and an office in a first building. Link Up France is now renovating the second building, which comprises four classrooms. This renovation will allow teachers and students alike to work in better conditions. The impact on parents is also positive, as this enhances the image of the educational system.

The Air Liquide Foundation's contribution

The Air Liquide Foundation is contributing to this renovation by paying for the acquisition of materials for the framework, the roof, the rendering, the doors and the windows.

The human development index (HDI) was created by the United Nations Development Programme in order to evaluate countries' level of human development. It is based on three criteria: life expectancy at birth, Gross Domestic Product per inhabitant, and education level.
