Emmaüs association facilities in France

Renovation of Emmaüs association facilities in Bussières-et-Pruns, in the Auvergne region of France

The Air Liquide Foundation is supporting the renovation of a centre for the Emmaüs association, which provides day-to-day support for community solidarity actions in Bussières-et-Pruns, in the Auvergne region of France.

Facilities's purposes

The Emmaüs association in Bussières-et-Pruns, Auvergne, uses these facilities for two purposes:

  • Managing a home for asylum seekers, which houses some fifty people
  • Supporting local inhabitants who are in situations of poverty by providing recreational facilities for children and selling clothing (second-hand shop) and food (grocer's shop) at reduced prices.

The association's facilities can no longer keep pace with the growing demand for these community services.

A new home for the association

The Air Liquide Foundation supports a project whose purpose is to renovate a new home for the Emmaüs association's community solidarity actions. The goal is to increase the number of days the grocer's shop and second-shop are open, in order to accommodate approximately 150 people per month. This new home will also boasts a canteen, in order to make children's stay more comfortable.

The Air Liquide Foundation supports the Emmaüs association in Bussières-et-Pruns by funding the purchase of equipment for renovating the interior and exterior of this new centre.
