The Air Liquide Foundation's support will help to build 8 of the 11 new classrooms in the Abdeljalil Benhaida primary school, in the Lahraouine neighborhood. This school has 2,800 pupils and currently has 35 classrooms, including 11 prefabs.
The objective of this project is to improve the pupils' study conditions
In this underprivileged neighborhood of Casablanca, children are often excluded from the education system, with poverty leading them to quit school or fail their studies. Faced with this situation, Initiatives is fighting to reduce these inequalities and rehabilitate schools, day-care centers, and sports fields in these neighborhoods.
In 2010 and 2011, the Air Liquide Foundation supported Initiatives in its rehabilitation of the Touria Sekkat and Oulad Hraouschools in Casablanca.
Thanks to this support, more than 4,000 children have benefited from better conditions for schooling
Initiatives is a non-profit association created in 2004 to federate and coordinate the efforts of socially aware companies around projects related to local development in Casablanca, with a long-term approach.
Thanks to this project, the association Initiatives was nominated in 2016 for the Air Liquide Foundation Award for Social Innovation.
