Ever since the 2009 financial crisis, the number of homeless persons and impoverished families has considerably increased in Athens. This extreme vulnerability has a significant impact on healthcare issues. At the same time, public healthcare infrastructures have been on the decline, and are currently struggling to meet this growing demand for public assistance.
The association has acquired an ambulance, whose equipment is partially financed by the Air Liquide Foundation, in order to facilitate the transport of financially vulnerable individuals to and from hospitals. To accomplish its goals, RSF Hellas is cooperating with public services.
The Air Liquide Foundation is supporting RSF Hellas by outfitting the ambulance with a new portable electrocardiograph and an LPG kit, which is more environmentally friendly.
