Refugee integration has become a national priority for Germany. Dormagener Sozialdienst has opened a shelter in the town of Dormagen, in North Rhine-Westphalia, that helps refugees to adapt socially every day. In this “House of Cultures”, 50 volunteers teach language lessons, support the clothes shop managed by Turkish women, and organize other activities.
In order to ensure that the lessons take place in the best conditions, it was necessary to equip a multi-purpose community room in the refuge. This room includes a training area and a reading corner, as well as an area to promote interaction between the refugees.
The Air Liquide Foundation is helping to fit out the center's community room through the acquisition of furniture (chairs, tables, shelves, etc.).
