Our History

A Foundation serving science and local communities

In 2008, Air Liquide SA and Air Liquide Santé International created the Air Liquide Foundation to act on social issues which they feel particularly concerned about.

Our actions

The founders chose to support scientific research and science education and to contribute to the social development of the territories where the Group is present.

Scientific projects cover the fields of air quality and respiratory diseases - chronic diseases such as COPD1 or asthma, and rare diseases such as cystic fibrosis.

Support to local development focuses on projects for the professional integration of people far from employment & local micro-initiatives.

Employee involvement

From the outset, the founders wanted to directly involve the Group's employees. Thus, each of the projects supported by the Foundation is monitored by an Air Liquide employee. This is what makes our Foundation special.

A collegial selection of projects

Since the Foundation's inception, all requests for funding have been subject to a selection process that calls on employees from various backgrounds, Air Liquide shareholder representation, as well as qualified members of the Foundation's Board.

Testimonial

“When I was asked to join the Air Liquide Foundation, I was honored. I discovered an organization that cares about doing things well, that is very attentive and exceptionally considerate.”

When I was asked to join the Air Liquide Foundation, I was honored. I discovered an organization that cares about doing things well, that is very attentive and exceptionally considerate. More than ever, we must put people back at the center of our concerns. I am very attached to giving back to others what one has received. I am convinced that the Foundation's new orientations will bear fruit.
