Digital inclusion for the world of work

Digital training program to encourage the socio-professional integration of vulnerable individuals.

A training organization with the Grande Ecole Numérique label, Konexio provides access to a solid professional network to accompany their learners into work. For Konexio, digital technology is a way of reducing socio-professional inequality. The Air Liquide Foundation supports its Digital Inclusion Program, which offers both computer training and soft skills workshops making it easier to get work.

Bridging the digital gap

In France in 2018, 14 million people are excluded from digital technology, denied the appropriate skills to meet the needs of the labor market, and 50% of those "digitally excluded" are unemployed1. Mastery of basic digital skills is one of the major challenges for the socio-professional integration of excluded people and for the fight against the unemployment of people out of the job market. Today, many of these are young people who have mastered their smartphones but few are at ease with a computer and even fewer with office software, which is essential for accessing the job market.

Amongst its various courses, Konexio is developing its vocational Digital Inclusion Program. The aim is to enable learners who are newly arrived immigrants or young people from priority neighborhoods:

  • to acquire technical skills in computer basics, the Microsoft Office suite, internet browsing, etc.
  • to get the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)
  • to enhance their personal qualities through development of the soft skills and expertise (CV writing, covering letter) that are essential in the world of work

Weekly workshops are organized by professional trainers accompanied by volunteers to provide individual support.
