CoActis Santé launches the SantéBD app

Supported in 2013 by the Air Liquide Foundation, the CoActis Santé association promotes access to healthcare for everyone, especially by creating practical tools for people with disabilities. On Wednesday, June 1st 2016, the association celebrated the launch of the SantéBD app at the 13th district town hall of Paris.

The SantéBD app facilitates dialogue with and between patients, mainly suffering from mental deficiency or autism, caregivers and health professionals. The app helps prepare different types of medical consultations: general medicine, ophthalmology, gynecology, radiology, blood test, etc. The app offers a set of illustrated and captioned sheets which explain the medical consultations step by step, the material which will be used, the doctor’s movements and the actions that the patient will have to execute. This tool permits, in this way, to reduce the anxiety level of people with mental disabilities. By promoting mutual comprehension, SantéBD also works for the improvement of the medical support and care of people suffering from mental disabilities and autism.

The app is now available for free on Android. You can download it from Google Play. An iOS version will soon be available on the App Store.
