The Air Liquide is supporting the creation of a new center to welcome street children in New Delhi.
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees estimates the number of children living in the streets of New Delhi at several hundred thousand. Left to their own devices, often in extremely precarious conditions, these children are particularly vulnerable and often exploited by their employers. The rare organizations offering support to these children are insufficient in number, do not have a pedagogic project and do not have enough educators.
In its reception house “Tara”, Chaya France houses, protects and educates the children it receives. Twenty boys were admitted in the first center created by the association and benefit from individualized education. The Air Liquide Foundation is supporting Chaya France in the construction of a second center called “Tara Littlies”, to welcome 20 boys and girls up to the age of 10, the age at which schools can no longer be coed in India.
The Air Liquide Foundation is providing financial support for the creation of this new reception center.
