The Air Liquide Foundation is continuing its support for a training center intended to emancipate the women of Pama. After having financed this center’s construction, the Foundation is aiding it to install electricity and acquire furniture.
In 2010, a partnership with the French association Humanitaire, Ici, Là-bas, Aider et Partager and the Burkina Faso Association Développement des Communautés Villageoises (ADCV) made it possible to build a training center and residence entirely financed by the Air Liquide Foundation. This center is now helping to emancipate women through literacy courses and vocational training.
The premises are also used to hold awareness-raising sessions on malnutrition, a major problem in the region. Although the infrastructures have been built and benefit the local population, some equipment is still lacking and is costly for the association, which is forced to rent the material needed for the center to run properly.
The challenge in 2011 was to install electricity in the center, to provide it with furniture and audiovisual equipment, and to build two hangars for working groups. The Air Liquide Foundation contributed its support to completing the work accomplished in 2010 so that the center can fully function to benefit Pama’s villagers.
